β¦ Synopsis
In this paper, adaptive morphological operators are further developed, extending those of Ref. [1], to allow more freedom in forming their operational windows that can adapt their shapes according to the local features of the processed images. The properties of the adaptive operators are investigated. These properties lead to an interesting way to handle images on the basis of the geometrical structure of images, and lead to the development of fast algorithms for the practical application of the adaptive operators. The e$ciency of adaptive operators in image processing is demonstrated with examples.
