Abstract
When an adaptive antenna is used for a mobile station in a vehicle, it is necessary to quickly adapt the weight coefficients for a changing electromagnetic environment. In this paper, for a nonstationary state in which the signal arrival direction changes as the vehicle moves, the dynamic behavior of the weight coefficients is studied, and a state transition matrix of the optimum weight coefficients is derived.
The proposed method is applied to a Kalman filter, and a method for controlling the weight coefficients in a nonstationary state is discussed. Further, by means of a simulation with a simple model, the effectiveness of the proposed model is verified. It is indicated that an accurate control is possible even if the electromagnetic environment changes rapidly in time. It is found that the proposed method has a superior adaptability over the least mean square (LMS) method and can be applied for highโspeed mobile communication.
