John Crane expands service capabilities in Saudi Arabia

J ohn Crane recently opened its greatly expanded headquarters and service centre in Saudi Arabia.

According to the company, the move, which reflects its commitment to customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highlights its growing service capabilities in this area and underlines the unique combination of technical and operational support that is available.

Located in the city of Dammam, the new headquarters and service centre boasts many features, including separate wet and gas seal reconditioning cells and dynamic test facilities.

The facility also incorporates an extended spare parts warehouse, CNC-equipped machine shop, fully-equipped training centre plus a full refurbishment and balancing capability for powertransmission couplings. A number of specialist John Crane teams are also based in the new headquarters, including those responsible for customer service, logistics, technical support, regional sales, and project and business development.

'We have made no secret of our commitment to work in partnership with our Middle East customers and provide them with dedicated support,' commented Paul Cox, President, John Crane Global.

'This major expansion project is tangible proof of our commitment being translated into positive action. Our customers will notice immediate benefits in terms of improved service, reduced turnaround times, greater spares availability and enhanced technical support. Our aim is to help those customers enjoy the sort of improvements in efficiency and reductions in down time that will help them achieve their own targets.'

The company also operates two other service centres in the country. The east-coast facility in Jubail incorporates a fully-equipped service centre with lapping, polishing, machining and pressure-testing capabilities, and includes a dedicated product and service training centre. Similar capabilities are also available at the recently redeveloped Yanbu Service Centre on the west coast.

During November the company used the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2010 as an opportunity to highlight its expanding capabilities in the Middle East.
