β¦ Synopsis
It has been found that activities of disc samples can be easily and accurately determined with a liquid scintillation efficiency tracing technique.
Although the counting technique of disc samples has been widely used, it has the inherent disadvantage that the activity of the disc sample cannot be determined through the conventional quenching correction technique. This efficiency tracing technique is applicable mostly to pure B and p-r emitters. The simplicity of the sample preparation of the discs and the convenience of an automatic efficiency tracing instrument commercially available make the method very useful for routine radioassay.
