A case of an unusually large hydatid cyst of the spleen measuring 53 cm. in diameter and containing 21 litres of fluid and scolices is reported in a 40-yearold farmer. He had a brief history of nausea, intermittent vomiting, and shortness of breath. Surgical removal of the spleen with the cyst was
