β¦ Synopsis
A method of acquiring 3-D information from a real object via a stereometric system is presented. Three-dimensional (3-D) data of an object are acquired by (1) camera calibration;
(2) stereo matching; (3) multiple stereo views covering the whole object; (4) geometrical computations to determine the 3-D coordinates for each sample point of the object. The analysis and the experimental results indicate that the method implemented is capable of measuring the spatial data of a real object with satisfactory accuracy.

We present a framework for recognition of 3D objects by integrating 2D and 3D sensory data. The major thrust of this work is to efficiently utilize all relevant data, both 2D and 3D, in the early stages of recognition, in order to reduce the computational requirements of the recognition process. To

The data structure that is probably most used in the pattern recognition and image processing of geometric objects is the segment tree and its optimized variant, the "layered segment tree". In all the versions currently known, except the work of Vaishnavi and Wood described later, these data structu
