✦ Synopsis

This boundary effect is suggested as a mechanism for the transfer of energy to axial by an acoustic pressure field in the liquid, have been investigated. The presence of boundaries at the end of the strip is shown to produce flexural waves in the strip, the amplitudes of which are dependent on the exact nature of the boundaries.

This boundary effect is suggested as a mechanism for the transfer of energy to axial flexural waves which have been observed in previous work on cylindrical tanks.
