โฆ Synopsis
After the presentation of the 3-D problem formulation in the companion paper (Part I), the theory and numerical program first is validated. For various configurations from one isotropic and one orthotropic layer, through to three layers, the transmission loss (TL) obtained for the 3-D model is compared with that for the 2-D model. Secondly, a numerical investigation is carried out in which the principal aim is to determine the 2-D model limits, by a parametrical study, and to examine the influence of the core material elastic stiffness constants (C_{33}, C_{55}) and (C_{66}). This study is concerned with aeronautical and space structures composed of three symmetrical layers.
