β¦ Synopsis
A single integral equation has been derived for the sound power radiated by a cylindrical beam which vibrates transversely in a multi-modal manner. Closed form approximate solutions have been obtained. The normal surface velocityis resolved into its harmonic components; the beam is unbaffled and considered to be of infinitelength, but kept rigid except for a finite portion which is mounted on a number of supports.
