Recent progress in combining reliability methods. and fracture mechanics analyses have created new possibilities in the rational assessment of structural integrity. The fraclure mechanics analysis used in conjunction with reliability analysis, has so fhr been using Paris type of growth laws with one smooth segment (applicable to in-air condition) and simplified consideration of the loading hisc.ory. No consideration has yet been given to the effect of the corrosive environment. The reliability information of
