โœฆ Synopsis

Mobility is one of the most compelling features in communication these days, having an enormous impact on pervasive computing. In the vision of 4G wireless communications, it is one of the requisite to provide seamless mobility support across heterogeneous access networks. In order to enable mobile users to seamlessly roam across such heterogeneous networks, there are many challenges arising from inter technology vertical Handover. This paper aims to review the Fuzzy logic based Vertical Handoff Decision Algorithm based on three input parameter namely Received Signal Strength, Cost and Bandwidth, as against one input parameter namely Received Signal Strength in case of conventional Vertical Handoff Decision Algorithm. This important feature of Vertical Handoff Decision in 4G networks will improve the overall efficiency of seamless mobility in fourth generation heterogeneous networks.
