โฆ Synopsis
The focus of this panel will be on aging and technology. The intent is to demonstrate how technology can be used to help older adults remain independent, productive and connected to family, friends, resources and services. Actual examples, using a variety of formats, of the types of difficulties older people encounter when they confront technical systems will be provided. Interview data from older people regarding their experiences with technology will also be presented. Finally, suggestions for needed research and design solutions will be discussed. The overall intent of the panel is to energize the HCI community to focus on issues relevant to aging and technology.
