โฆ Synopsis
ture physics community to disseminate the results of theoretical and experimental research on quantum fluids and solids, metals and semiconductors, magnetic and insulating solids. The field of low temperature physics--and with it its new journal--grew rapidly in the following years, revealing several new discoveries in various areas. The journal continues to communicate novel experimental and theoretical results in the field of low temperature physics, and has recently broadened its scope of research areas.
In January 1979, Professor John P. Harrison became Co-Editor of the journal and very soon took over the major part of the editorial work. In June 1987, he became the Editor, following the death of John Daunt. After more than 13 years with the Journal of Low Temperature Physics, John Harrison wants to return to full-time research and teaching. We, the Editorial Board and present Co-Editors of the journal, express our deep appreciation for the service that John has given to the low temperature community. It is most fortunate that he will continue to serve on the Editorial Boardand we certainly will lean on John for his so competent advice and his wealth of experience.
