โœฆ Synopsis

Hydroquinone-adsorbed

ghrcose oxidase shows amperometric sensitivities to glucose without assistance of any electron mediator dissolved in glucose solutions. Electrical interaction of the adsorbed hydroquinonesulfonate with the redox center of glucose oxidase is evidenced by quenching of the fluorescence of glucose oxidase caused by adsorption of hydroquinone sulfonate. The amount of adsorption of one hydroquinonesulfonate for one redox center of glucose oxidase is enough to give the maximum apmerometric sensitivity.
