Abstract

An all‐fiber Fabry–Pérot accelerometer based on cantilever structure is constructed in this article. The Fabry–Pérot interferometer is formed by splicing the ends of two SMF‐28e fibers to the cleaved end of a hollow‐core photonic crystal fiber (HCPCF). We analyzed the relationship between the length of HCPCF cavity, light intensity, voltage of photoelectronic detector, and the deflection of the cantilever free end. Thus, the simple theoretical formula is achieved to calculate acceleration. Experimental results show that the resolution of the measuring system is about 8.42 × 10^−7^g and the sensitivity is 0.3386 v/g. In addition, Such kind of Fabry–Perot sensing structure is low sensitive to temperature and bending. It is anticipated that the Fabry–Pérot interferometer accelerometers have wide application prospects in the field of inertial navigation and vibration measurements. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel all‐optical technique for microwave generation using photonic crystal fiber Brillouin laser is presented, and a 9.78‐GHz microwave signal generator based on the Brillouin laser is experimentally realized. The Brillouin laser is based on a fiber Fabry‐Perot cavity with fiber Brag
