We have investigated the effect in AC magnetic susceptibility, X~ = X' + J X", of both DC transport current, Jt , and DC magnetic field, Hac, in polycristalline HTSC. Two regimes are observed: at low DC fields critical state is modified by the current self field; but as Hac is increased, Jt becomes dissipative (Vacยข 0) and X~ is determined by the sample's "resistance".

The results of measurements of low frequency AC losses in a cylindrical YBa,Cu3OT\_x sample subjected to a sinusoidally varying magnetic field, with a coaxially superimposed DC-bias field, are presented. It is found that magnetic history effects are not observed if only the AC field is applied. A qu
