Shoot biomass, species richness and selected environmental factors were studied at Meijendel, a coastal dune area in The Netherlands. The relationship between species richness and shoot biomass of the stand could be best described by a unimodal curve, with the peak at 300 g m ~2. Measures of species

β¦ Synopsis
The spatial and temporal dynamics of rotifers in relation to the physico-chemical parameters in Fish-Culture Research Station (Southern Tunisia) were studied monthly from February 2005 to January 2006. Thirteen rotifer species were found: Brachionus urceolaris, Brachionus calyciflorus, Brachionus sp., Lecane stichaea, Lecane rhytida, Lecane sp., Hexarthra mira, Rotaria tardigrada, Conochiloides natans, Trichocerca marina, Keratella quadrata, Keratella cochlearis and Notommata codonella. The most dominant rotifer was B. urceolaris (76% of total abundance). Rotifer density and water temperature were negatively correlated (r ΒΌ Γ0.94, n ΒΌ 12, p ΒΌ 0.001). The highest abundance of rotifers was found in basin 4 (1.5 Γ 10 5 ind m Γ3 , in June 2005).

## Abstract We analyzed the biomass, density and age structure of __S. woodiana__ populations in relation to different environmental factors at new sites of its occurrence in southern Poland. The highest recorded biomass was 4,413 g m^β2^. Mussel density was 19 individuals m^β2^. The age structure
Most of the tested water quality factors increase downstream coinciding with changes in the aquatic vegetation, from typical species of fast-flowing oligotrophic waters to those of slowerflowing eutrophic waters. Several statistic analyses were carried out to relate physical and chemical parameters
