JASIS readers would, I am sure, have appreciated the new design of the cover of their favorite journal when receiving the January I995 (46: I) issue. The smart combination of shapes and colors, the very old and the brand new, the universal within the particular, convey an attractive allegory of our field.

This issue, however, also contains another noteworthy innovation, possibly a revolution, which readers may unfortunately have missed. I refer to entirely new rules for book reviews as exemplified by Mr. Samarajiva's evaluation of Measuring the Impact qflnformation on Development (pp. 75-77).
