β¦ Synopsis
The infrared circular dichroism (IRCD) of cholesteric liquid crystals prepared from nematic material doped with varying remounts of optically-active cornpow& has been measured. Large, narrow circular dichroism (CD) bands arising from molecular vibrntions in the helical array can be distinguished from the CD of the broad cholestcric reflection bands.
