โฆ Synopsis
The absorption of lean NO m an aqueous slurry of Ca(OH)? or Mg(OHL with NaClO? was carried out using a stured tank absorber with a plane gas-hquld Interface at 25ยฐC and 1 atm The rates of absorption of NO and the accompanymg desorptlon of NO* for the Ca(OH)* slurry were m close agreement with those for the aqueous rmxed solution of NaC102 and NaOH with hrgher OH-concentration, whereas for the Mg(OH)z slurry. the absorption rate of NO notlceably exceeded that for the former systems Furthermore, the ratlo of the NOI desorptton rate to the NO absorption rate conslderably exceeded the theoretlcal predtctlon for gas absorption with the consecutive reactlon (maxlmum devlatlon attamed 117%) Also, chlorme dloxlde was detected III the gas phase It was deduced from ttus experimental evidence that there occurs both desorptlon of the decomposltlon product CIOz and gas-phase oxldatlon of No with C102 to produce NO2
