β¦ Synopsis
The absorption and emission spectra of various cis-2-styrylanthracene derivatives were obtained by extrapolation procedures. The emission yields become appreciable only in highly viscous media at low temperatures. The absorption spectra retain the triple peak in the near UV characteristic of the corresponding trans isomers.
