✦ Synopsis
Absolute total elastic cross scctions for Ne-Ar, Ne-Kr, and Ne-Xe solhsions have been measured in the 0.5-1.4 km 5' veiocity range. The data have been analyzed on the basis of tbe Lennard-Jones (12,6) and BuckinSham-Corner (6,8,10) potential models. For the long dístance ranges mainly probed by the experiments, accurate model independent potential magrdtudes have been determhred. For Ne-Ar and Ne-Kr systems, semiempiricaI cahulations previousiy performed for the long range expansion terms yield potential values which overlap the present dctermination within the uncertainty timits. For Ne-Xe, a remarkable dïsagreement betwveen experiment and caiculations bas been found. hQrhiparameter potentials previously obtained from differential scattering cross sections appear hirly to reproduce the gIory amplitudes and liocatiorrs.
