The concept of chemical hardness has been recently adopted in the framework of Kohn᎐Sham theory as a faithful ab initio measure of pseudopotential transferability. A fully self-consistent hardness theory was developed and employed to evaluate the transferability of semilocal pseudopotentials. Hardne
