✦ Synopsis

In this contribution, adaptive finite element methods are presented based on the approximation of large-and smallstrain elasticity. Upper bound residual global and local a posteriori error estimators without interpolation constants are derived by solving auxiliary local Neumann problems with equilibrated tractions. Illustrative examples show the numerical and physical features of the presented methodology.
