The recognition of a small amount of component B overlapped by a large amount of a similar component A is possible by means of numerical analysis of the chromatographic peak. The authors describe a new method based on the comparison of the experimental curve with the theoretical Gaussian curve. The

β¦ Synopsis
According to provisions of IUPAC, SI and IS0 the concept of equivalence should be abandoned, due to its shortcomings. The equivalent weight of a substance cannot be uniquely defined. The equivalence law applies only to acid-base and oxidation-reduction titrations, and does not apply to complexometric and precipitation titrations. This paper presents a rule of equal amount of substance to solve the problems of the equivalence law.

The molar heat capacity at constant pressure Cp,m and the differential Joule-Thomson coefficient m of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, 1,1-difluoroethane, and of a mixture of equal amounts of both substances have been measured by flow calorimetry. The investigation covered gaseous and supercritical states
