Supercritical water oxidation is carried out at temperatures ca. 600 "C and pressures ca. 23 MPa, with a partial pressure of oxygen ca. 2 MPa. Both thermodynamic and kinetic calculations are consistent with the experimental observation that under these conditions, regardless of the oxidation state o
