Ab initio RHF/STO-3G, 3-21~, and 6-31~ band structure calculations were carried out on an extended regular chain of beryllium atoms (--Bez-)= to study its stability in comparison with corresponding data on finite chains and previously reported results on small elemental beryllium clusters. It is fou
Rcccivcd 6 Scptcmber 1976 ST0 4G calculations arc carried out on methane in both tetrahcdrd and l&n-Teller dIstorted Czv and Czv symmctcies. Ab initio calculations were performed for the three lowest lying states of HO:. The ground state was found to be a bend 3A" state. The fust excited 'A' state cannot appropriately be descriied by a single determinant, therefore a MC SCF calculation was employed.
The second-order ab initio effective valence shell Hamiltonian of quasi-degenerate many-body perturbation theory has been used to determine the valence state potential energy curves of SH and SH +. The calculated spectroscopic constants of various valence states are in good agreement with those of e
