โœฆ Synopsis

Jiirgen Hennig has been head of the MR research group of the Radiologische Klinik, University of Freiburg, since 1983. He received his doctorate in Physical Chemistry in 1980, working on Nh4R examinations of the kinetics of intramolecular proton exchange. After two postdoctoral years at the University of Zurich, he joined the rapidly developing field of medical magnetic resonance. For several years, he was one of the few advocates of what is now being called mid-field MR for clinical routine. Meanwhile, a satisfying number of clinicians and practioners have joined this view.

Dr. Hennig is now working most of the time on a 2 T whole-body system, doing mainly localized proton spectroscopy without neglecting his activities in MR imaging, the evolution of which he firmly believes is far from being concluded.

Frank Janke is a full-time lecturer in chemistry at the Veterinary University in Budapest. His main profile is structure elucidation in pharmaceutical synthetic chemistry, and he is involved in a broad range of spectroscopic methods. Dr. Janke received a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the Technical University of Budapest in 1987.

Jenii Kiirti has been a lecturer at the Eotvos Lorind University in the Department of Atomic Physics in Hungary since 1978, and is also a guest scientist for the Institute for Solid-state Physics at the University of Vienna. Following several years of involvement in ESR and NMR spectroscopy, his main research interest now lies in the Raman spectroscopy and quantum chemistry of conjugated polymers. Dr. Kurti obtained a Ph.D. in physics in 1982 from the Eotvos Lorand University.

Anet started working on NMR in 1959, and he was the frrst to apply the nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) to stereochemical problems. His interests include stereochemistry, dynamic NMR, spin relaxation, and deuterium isotope effects. Prof. Anet also has a strong interest in instrumentation and was invo
