โœฆ Synopsis

The phase transition of bilayers of 1,2-dibehenoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DBPC) induced by ice (H~O and D20) melting has been investigated by infrared and Raman spectroscopy. Spectral changes observed at this transition are smaller at lower water content. These spectral changes are interpreted in terms of increased molecular mobility. Slightly different temperature dependencies are observed for various spectral parameters between samples dispersed in H20 and D20.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the interaction of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) with phospholipid bilayers in an effort to add a new dimension to our understanding of polymer interaction with lipids. For the preparation of lipid-polymer dispersions, measured amounts of DPPC (1,2 dipalmit
