This paper describes a general purpose single chip microprocessor system which is specially suited for low cost control and data acquisition applications.
The hardware and software architecture of the system and the methods of software development are explained.
The great versatility presented by the matching of the FORTH language and the NEC 7811 microprocessor, and some possible applications, either in a research laboratory or in an industrial environment are also presented.
