Co('lI)porphyrin (la-d) acts as a versatile catalyst during the oxidation of a wide range of organic substrates at ambient conditions by using a combination of molecular oxygen and 2-methylpropanal. The versatility of these catalysts is demonstrated by oxidation of alkenes, allylic or benzylic substrates, alcohols, and hydrocarbons to the corresponding oxidized products at ambient conditions.
