โฆ Synopsis
This article describes an electromechanieal nnit which performs various mathematical operations occurring in the solution of differential equations by analog methods.
The mathematical operations in question are essentially those that cannot be solved by use of the conventional d-c. amplifier technique, for example, multiplication, generation of arbitrary functions of independent and dependent variables, etc.
It may be seen that a combination of the proposed units and d-c. amplifiers only, meets all requirements for a complete, general-purpose differential analyzer.
