Abstract
A model for synoptic frontal analyses derived from frontal‐contour‐chart studies is described. Three frontal systems named the polar front, the maritime arctic front and the continental arctic front are necessary to portray adequately the thermal‐frontal structure of the atmosphere. In‐phase wave development on at least two of the frontal systems occurs during major cylogenesis. The three‐front (or four‐air‐mass) cyclone is verified by aerological analyses while the classical occlusion model is not usually observed.

## Abstract We consider the problem of assessing new and existing technologies for their cost‐effectiveness in the case where data on both costs and effects are available from a clinical trial, and we address it by means of the cost‐effectiveness acceptability curve. The main difficulty in these an
This paper addresses the dynamic behaviour of a chemical oscillator arising from the series coupling of two Brusselators. Of particular interest is the study of the associated Hopf bifurcation and double-Hopf bifurcations. The motion of the oscillator may either be periodic (bifurcating from a Hopf-
