✦ Synopsis

A preliminary report of a study of cadaver surface cooling by two methods is described. The results conjrm the large variation in cooling rates at dzferent sites on the surfact! of the same cadaver, and demonstrate considerable differences in the surface cooling patterns of cadavers of similar height and weight, but of differing fat distribution and body habitus. Initial observations suggest that these techniques will have little practical application 'in the jield', but may be oJ value as a monitoring procedure for the selection of sites for multipoint temperature recording experiments.
