β¦ Synopsis
A generalized Ginzburg-Landau approach is used to study the nonmonotonic temperature dependence of the upper critical field Hoe(T) in antiferromagnetic superconductors RE(Mo)6Ss; RE=Dy, Tb, Gd. It is found that electrodynamic effects incorporated through screening and indirect coupling between the staggered magnetization MQ(T) and superconducting order parameter 4t cannot explain the observed nonmonotonicity. This suggests that the direct coupling between the two order parameters should be considered to understand the experimental results, a finding which is consistent with recent microscopic calculations.

A microscopic theory describing the upper critical field in quasi-zero-dimensional superconductors is presented. The model is applicable to materials in which the superconducting electrons form clusters which are spatially separated from each other. It is argued that in quasi-zero-dimensional superc
