The relaxation mechanism of \*05T1+ adsorbed on hydrated silica is controlled by the nuclear dipole-dipole interaction. The correlation time is estimated to be equal to about 3 X lO+ s. The thallium-205 resonance is up-field shifted by 80 ppm as compared to the free solution.
