✦ Synopsis
The hyperfine structure of the line X 4722 of the arc spectrum of bismuth was investigated with a Fabry-Perot interferometer. After corrections were made for the mutual influence of the components, deviations from the Land6 interval rule were observed in the 2Da/~ state. These are accounted for by the addition of a cos ~ term to the usual law of interaction.
