✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The part played by oxygen dissolved in feed water in the corrosion of marine boilers has long been known, and de‐aerating plants to eliminate or reduce the oxygen content have been installed wherever a closed feed system exists. This method is designed to enable the determination of dissolved oxygen to be carried out by ships' personnel, so that a check can be kept on the de‐aerating plant and closed feed system.
