Ln (C-propylene carbonate solution achin aliphztic ketones and thioketones with near-C*, symmetry givs positive II-* R* circuku dictioism monosignate bands while those with lower symmetry give negative bands and centrosymnietric dicarbonyl compounds are optically inactive. A mechAsm for induction of optical activity through solvent perturbation is presented.
