โฆ Synopsis
A survey was conducted on 500 rural small manufacturing businesses to investigate their perception of the impact of computer use on decision performance.
Two key findings emerged. First, computer systems failed to provide adequate support to many decision activities. Second, executives in such businesses were satisfied with their computer systems. However, many did not perceive a positive correlation between computer use and cost efficiency. The survey also tested the relationship between organizational characteristics and success of computer use. The survey showed that MIS ranking function, age of business, and EDP experience were significantly associated with success of computer use.
