This paper presents the experimental studies and main operational characteristics of a superconducting magnet system for a polarized proton target. The system was used in pion pho toproduction from polarized protons. The characteristics described meet the requirements of the dynamic proton polarization method and the kinematic conditions of photoproduction experiments.
