Abstract

The phospha‐Mannich condensation of benzaldehyde, n‐propylamine, and diethyl phosphite carried out at 80°C in acetonitrile takes place via the imine (PhCNPr) intermediate as suggested by in situ FT‐IR spectroscopy. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
