## Abstract Basic radiation properties of miniaturized openβended waveguide radiators based on anisotropic, either muβnegative (MNG) or epsilonβnegative (ENG) fillings, have been investigated experimentally. It was found that a resonant MNG filling offers a high degree of antenna miniaturization wi

Abstract
In this paper, a rectangular waveguide and a nonraditive dielectric (NRD) waveguide, filled with anisotropic negative permittivity and permeability, are studied in detail. A general condition of the existence of TE and TM modes in these waveguides is derived. The unique characteristics of these waveguides are explored. Both fullyβ and partiallyβfilled cases of rectangular waveguides are examined. Characteristics of NRD waveguides with anisotropic metamaterial cores are studied. Β© 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract Wave propagation along a rectangular metallic waveguide, loaded with a longitudinal metamaterial slab adjacent to air, is studied in this paper. The dispersion relations have been obtained and the Ξ² β Ο diagrams have been drawn for various width ratios of the metamaterial to air regions
## Abstract This paper depicts the properties of rectangular waveguides filled with a double wire medium, i.e. a double array of wires, perpendicular to the waveguide walls. Spectra of eigenmodes for structures with wires connected and nonconnected at their intersections are analyzed analytically a
