✦ Synopsis
Interference between resonances in neutron cross sections has been studied using the two-level approximation. Use has been made of the mathematical connection between the R-matrix and the Kapur-Peierls theories which provides two sets of resonance parameters for each cross section allowing an improved measure of the effects of interference. The mathematical properties of the cross section when the resonance widths are large compared to the spacing have also been obtained.
