The mechanism which generates the AC transport losses under self-fields in textured Ag-(Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu30 x monofilament tapes depends upon the area ratio SAg/Ssc of silver to superconductor core in the cross section rather than the core geometry. In the screen-printed tapes with SAs/Ssc = 13 and 26
