A RECENT research topic in the Department of Architectural Science at Sydney University was ~t study of different ~.ays o1" lighting a school classroom.

The object was to determine how the li['etime costs of a lighting system vary with the design level of illumination. methods ol" lighting a classroom: side windows, roof lights, combinations of these: completely electric lighting: daylight with permanent stipplementary artificial lighting.
