The dried leaves of Piper marginaturn contain 6.97% of volatile oil, 0.28% o f tannin, also reducing sugars, a phytosterol, a fat, an unknown substance resembling an alkaloid believed to be the active constituent, and very small quantities of some unidentified crystalline substances. REFERENCES
