โฆ Synopsis
This paper presents a study of constitutive relation and fracture failure of steel-fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) subjected to compressive loading. Firstly, the characteristics of stress-strain curves for SFRC are analyzed, and appropriate constitutive relations are suggested. Subsequently, an erosion algorithm is presented for the simulation of the fracture failure of the SFRC. With the erosion criterion of maximum principal strain implemented, the failure of the SFRC specimen in split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) tests is finally simulated. Numerical results show that the isotropic hardening plasticity mode and the erosion criterion are suitable for the analysis of the SFRC failure under medium strain-rate loading. In addition, the volume fraction of fibers has significant influence on SFRC fracture failure.
