β¦ Synopsis
The charge-transfer complexes of chloranil as acceptor component, with p-phsnylene d&nine and p-ethoxyaniline as donors have been studied in methyl alcohol by conductometric measurements. The stoichiometry of charge transfer complexes has been determined from the position of the conductivity maximum obtained during the titration of donor solution with acceptor solution. The stoichiometry of the pphenylene diamine-chloranil is 3 : 2 and that of the p-ethoxyaniline-chloranil is I : 2. The molar conductivity coefficients for all these systems at temperatures 20", 25". 30", 35" and WC have been calculated, and are found to increase with increase in temperature in all the systems studied here.

## Abstract The ^13^C n.m.r. spectra of complexes between __o__βchloranil and aromatic electron donors were studied. Complexation leads to a general diamagnetic shift of the ^13^C n.m.r. signals for the acceptor (__o__βchloranil), but for signals from the ^13^C nuclei in the donors both diamagnetic
Using a series o f N-methylated thiohydantoins as substrates, the donor properties o f the sulfur atom are measured by determining the stability constants ( K ) of their adducts with molecular iodine. The K's have been determined by recording the UV-visible spectra of several CH2C12 solutions with d
