✦ Synopsis
Angular distributions to the ground state and six excited states of 4STi have been measured for the 4~Sc(aHe, dpeTi reaction at a bombarding energy of 37.7 MeV. Also obtained is a ~sSc(3He, aHe)4sSc elastic angular distribution at the same energy. The angular distributions have shapes characteristic of a proton angular momentum transfer of 3, corresponding to stripping to the lf. t nuclear shell. Some of the excited states also have admixtures of Ip = 1 components, corresponding to proton stripping to the 2p~ shell.
The ~6Ti(p, p')46Ti data are analysed in terms of simple shell-model configurations implied by the Ip transfers of the (aHe, d) work with configurations attainable by inelastic shell-model transitions.
NUCLEAR REACTIONS '15Sc(aHe, d), E = 37.7 MeV; measured t~(Ea, O); E '15Sc(3He, :SHe), E = 37.7 MeV; measured 0(0); 46Ti(p, p'), E = 21.2 MeV; measured cr(El,,, 0). 4STi deduced levels, lp, spectroscopic factors nuclear deformation ilL.
